Artist Statement

A/Z

My life span as an artist and a writer shall be a constant process of disclosure and discourse.

My enthusiasm is engaged by the gap between how this world is institutionalized through collective consciousness and how we individually interpret our inheritance of architecture, knowledge, and art. This divergence forms a sign of inadequacy which directs me to what beyond my realization and public awareness. Connecting past to present, the system that we have been consistently depending upon is a system of ideologies and identifications. Notwithstanding, we are still lost in between latitudes and dimensions that remain ambiguous or, occasionally, contradictory in our brief history. Therefore, my position as a creative thinker, started with my insight and following with my inventiveness, is to locate such ambiguities or contradictions radically, thus disclosing the sublime of which we have ignored yet embraced.

Works of creation and conception naturally travel together with controversies. It would not be my intention to merely post questions or entirely negate our belief systems. Instead, through my abstraction and perception, I aim to activate people to rethink what they identify. As an artist and a writer, I shall have the determination to invite our fellow human beings to join the undertaking of reassessing the heritage of history, deconstructing the consensus of communities, and, thereby, reinventing the framework of how we live with institution. An intellectually and constantly renewing mind would be what this process of discourse pursues and seeks for.

Up to this stage of my practice and research, I consider art as an embodiment of representation, examination, and manifestation. Being a complex yet inclusive form of investigation and expression, art transcends the relation between language and ourselves, hence drawing a distinction on association. On that account, my practice and research are in pursuit of emerging a composition of which both artistic inspiration and critical thinking are genuinely emphasized, while linguistic conventions no longer serve as explanation for art, but rather as comprehension of it.

Being an idealist and a realist at the same time, I continuously find myself in a discursive position of gathering substantiation and negation simultaneously during my own disclosures and discourses. This notion might be ambivalent, yet it also allows me to seize the inadequacy amongst diversified causes, contexts, times, and narratives. It is not only for my own taking but also for our mankind to reach a reconciliation between crisis and progression, as well as between criticism and life, which is also what our critical thinking interminably attempts to expand while perpetuating the process of expanding.
